Whipping up Some Power

Ryan a resident of AZ contacted me about tuning his 2010 Camaro.  Since he had just added the following mods a tune was definitely in order.

Whipple 2.9L
American Racing Headers
3" Cat Back Exhaust
ZL1 Fuel Pump
FAST 85 lb/hr Injectors.

Quite a lethal combination of parts.  It reminded me of a local nasty Camaro on this blog owned by Aaron.  Car off the trailer and on the dyno Ryan's Camaro put down a stout 542rwhp and 526 rwtq on 91 octane.  While I was tuning the discussion of E85 came up, and me being a fan of the "green" fuel said lets do it while we have the Camaro strapped down on the dyno.  What a great comparison back to back runs on 91 and E85.

Have ZL1, Will Mod!!

Since the guys at Ford tried to one up GM with their 2013 GT500 (emphasis on the tried).  Mickey wanted to have a little "something" for any would be new GT500 owner that gotten a little too big for his britches.  The ZL1 does not need much to take it to wondrous levels of power!  As you will see from this rather tame build the results are not something to take lightly.  I think this is a package that will be enjoyed by Mickey and likely at the expense of the car in the next lane!!!

The Beauty of Bolt-ons!!

I am not sure what it is about the 2003 Z06 but these cars are always modded.  If you see a stock one take a picture for me, since I have not seen one in a long time.  Really is there a better begining point to any car then helping that air pump under the hood breath.  Anthony's Z06 cam in with a Varaam intake, and went out with a set of Kooks 1 7/8 headers 3" Catted center section, Corsa Extreme axle back and some tuning to gring it all together.  Now his vette runs and sounds like a Z06 should.

Wham, Bam, Sam Cam!!

Michael already had a rather stout Camaro in his possession that we built for him a year or so ago.   Most people would be happy with a Camaro SS with a list of mods that include a Procharger, Kooks Headers, Magnaflow Exhaust, Pfadt Suspension, Yank Converter.  Unfortunately really no matter what you build after time the "butt-o-meter" just does not register the same, and what once was amazing is well "ok."  So what do you do to bring back the excitement to a Camaro with an impressive resume like this?  Well put a cam in it of course!  The L99 with the factory VVT/DOD camshaft does not care for the upper part of the rpm band, so we do a DOD delete and add the "Sam Cam."  We will have the results in a couple of days but for now here are some pics of the build.
